Hello it’s Celine! I’m not usually one to make the updates.
     As a reminder, mind your manners. We are two disabled women running this entire merchandise company ourselves. We do a lot more behind the scenes than what you guys see, and are pulling at least 11 hour workdays everyday. If the item you wanted to win didn’t win a poll; that is not an open invitation to try to force us to make your favorite item. This is also not an open invitation for anyone to scold any other backers, for the record. This is a general address, as we like to keep a tighter reign on our Backerkit community than most. Our Backerkit doesn’t just pay our wages it pays our freelance animators, so forgive us for the incoming over reaction. 

     I personally like the ladybug bag, and want it to be made so I can wear it. It’s a lot more my style than a lot of our merch. I understand excitement and do not fault anyone or hold animosity towards anyone for it. We most likely will be making it as a stretch goal during the surveys; it’s a great wholesale item. So, hopefully you may even see it in gift shops in the future. 

     If you do not feel the time constraints of the poll are adequate or are miffed we run our campaigns differently from others, please remember we are also working on three movies and are currently setting up our new offices. We also were not prepared for how quickly we’d hit our stretch goals, and while very grateful for the support, are very much rushing to keep up. We will take your feedback about longer polls into consideration as much as possible, but this one was a bit rushed. We won’t always be able to make everything as smooth as possible, so try to give us some grace. We aren’t doing it because we don’t care; we’re doing it because we’re most likely rushing lol. You guys always surprise us with how much you like our designs.

Another thing I’d like to address is why we do such a menagerie of items. I do see people a bit confused from time to time, so I will clear the air. We have so many campaigns and items on the backburner, if we split up our campaigns to, for instance, only be plush bags or only be clothing. We’d have a lot of smaller campaigns and make a lot more work for ourselves. Backers also tend to get miffed when we run campaigns back to back without fulfilling items first. So, we’d do a lot smaller more frequent campaigns and make a lot less money. This works for other businesses but not ours, because we have an animation team we have to pay. It’s not something too important; just something I’d like to be transparent about because people were wondering. 

     you are free to do with your money as you so choose. As again, think of this as a transaction you’d have at a store. If our customer service is not up to your standards, I’m sorry. We’re always open to feedback. But again, I doubt anyone is really that upset; I just have to address it because it’s my job. I think that’s everything I wanted to say, and again we’re not super upset or anything just wanted to clear the air.

Our final stretch goal for this campaign has been unlocked!!! It was a very close poll, but don’t worry any item that wasn’t chosen will most likely find its way to our shops one way or another down the line! (I see you ladybug bag fans 👀)

We’re in the last week of our campaign now, thank you all for your support on this collection!! 

As a reminder, you will not be able to choose your bag until the surveys release when the campaign ends. The surveys/orders will not be locked until all items have a sample in so you know what everything looks like before making your final decisions! 

NOTE: Any item that does not yet have a sample will have photos back BEFORE the surveys are posted! Not all will have photos by the time the campaign ends, but you will know what they look like + have time to give us feedback on the design before making your final selections in the survey

We are very excited to share that we have our first photos back of the beetle beret!!! The sample is not complete, it is still being sewn together but afterwards we will also get photos of it modeled/on a mannequin to see how it looks when worn. I think it’s turning out perfectly, but feel free to give feedback especially if you have it as an add-on!
Outside of that, we are still working on stretch goals in our spare time! I’ve got a couple ideas: maybe a centipede varsity or kimono, maybe some frog related stuff. I’m still workshopping a beetle kimono/cardigan design, what would you like to see from that? An all over/repeated print or more unique artworks along the arms or near the shoulder (more like how we design varsity jackets) is what I’m thinking. I think I definitely want to keep the gradient effect though no matter what the design is!

I’ve decided to make the beetle beret available as an add-on! We’ve already gained so much more funding, so consider this stretch goal unlocked haha


Now I’m thinking of a matching cardigan to go with the beret….
Maybe a longline, flowy-sleeved cardigan with a gradient? Still need to put the actual beetle designs on it, but I’d love to hear your thoughts! I should also note the material would be very light so it’s still comfortable to wear in most weather

Anyway that would be up for the next community voted stretch goal! The other items that didn’t get selected last time may be up to vote for again too 

This plush will be quite large, comparable to our giant millipede plushie. The straps are planned to be removable just like the beetle bags.
The sample will now be put into production, I hope we are able to share some pictures with you soon!! (Est. 2-3 weeks or more)

I’d also like to remind everyone who’s been following but hasn’t pledged yet that the early bird tiers will be ending on the 6th! You can always switch your tier or cancel your pledge later, but this is the last chance to get the discounted prices on the beetle bag or bundle tier 🪲 

I’m currently thinking about what other stretch goal designs I could do and what to price them at, but you can expect some new stuff in the next update!
